Mangaluru: “Bharatiya Janatha Party to hold state level OBC’s convention at Bengaluru on November 27 under the leadership of former Karnataka CM B S Yeddyurappa, to strengthen the party and to prepare the party workers for the upcoming assembly election,” said President of BJP OBC Morcha, B J Puttaswamy.
Speaking to the reporters at district BJP office on Tuesday, he said that Bengaluru palace ground will be the venue for the convention. To unite the backward caste party workers from grassroot level this convention has been organised.
“The government led by Siddaramaiah has neglected the people who belong from backward caste community. He has failed to carry the pro-people developmental schemes implemented by B S Yeddyurappa. This time B S Yeddyurappa has set a target to win 150 seats in Karnataka in the next assembly elections,” he said.
He further said that economic stability to the OBC category people was given by B S Yeddyurappa by providing grants to OBC Math’s. There are 34 percent OBC voters who can change the electoral prospects in the state. For the development of the youth of OBC community B S Yeddyurappa introduced mice finance scheme also.
Further slamming the government over steel flyover project he said that the project could have yield Rs 500 crore for Congress party, so the CM is so adamant to implement the project so that they can use it for election purpose.
District BJP President Sanjeev Matandoor, BJP OBC District President Sathyajit Surathkal and others were present.
