Udupi :  Udupi-Chikmagalur MP Jayaprakash Hegde inaugurated the state level inter primary and high school chess tournament 2012-13 at Mount Rosary English School at Santhekatte-Kalianpur on November 18, Sunday. A colourful procession  was taken out from Ashirwad Junction to the function venue, prior to the inaugural function. The procession featured huli vesha team, colourful umbrellas, chende team among others.

As may as 680 chess players from 34 districts are taking part in the event.

Among others present at the inaugural function were Sr Adriana Serravo, Headmistress of Mount Rosary English School,  Mallika, ZP member, Fr Philip Nery Aranha, Correspondent and Parish Priest, Mount Rosary Church and School,  Pramod Madhwaraj, entrepreneur and others were present on the occasion.

The even will conclude on November 20.
