Udupi : The 9th two-day state level drawing teachers conference-2013 organised by the Karnataka State Drawing Teachers Association and Udupi district unit of the Association, was inaugurated by NB Vijaya Ballal, Dharmadarshi of Ambalpady Janardhana Mahakali Temple at the Ammani Ramanna Shetty Auditorium on March 14, Thursday.
Sri Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji of Shiroor Mutt who was the chief guest, stressed the need for all schools to have drawing teachers and conduct drawing classes. He said there is a need to make the children engage themselves in creative works like drawing at a time when the present day education mounts pressure on them.
MLC Capt. Ganesh Karnik, was the chief guest. K Lakshman Bhat, Conference President, Udupi ZP Chief Upendra Nayak, Conference Honorary president P Rabindra Nayak, entrepreneur Pramod Madhwaraj, senior artist Mohandas Bhat Kota and BG Avati, State President of the Association, were present on the occasion.
