Mangalore : St. Aloysius Pre University College of Mangalore, the Mangalore Taluk Kannada Sahithya Parishad, and the Kannada and Cultural Department of Mangalore jointly organized “Nammadu,” a state-level literary and cultural convention in Loyola Hall of St. Aloysius College on Jan 22, Saturday.
MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, inaugurated the event and said that, the education institutions are unaware of the fact that how to introduce and education and St Agnes has given a new sphere to it by conducting state-level literary and cultural competitions for high school students.
He said that the organizations has taken responsibility to promote culture and art by encouraging a number of programmes, like folk dance presentations, Kannada talks, poetry writing, and others. At present day, as the trend of education has change, the education system went wrong without giving importance to humanity and creativity.
Harikrishna Punarooru, Former President, Karnataka State Kannada Sahithya Parishath, presided over the event.
Writer Arehole Sadashiva participated as the chief guest on the occasion. Sarvottam Anchan, and Pradeep M. and others were present. Number of teams participated in the event across the state.
