Bangalore: Once he asserted his leadership by twice winning the Confidence vote in Karnataka state assembly this week, CM B.S Yeddyurappa did not lose time to congratulate the various medal winners of Common Wealth Games (CWG) from Karnataka, and announced various cash prizes to them on their hard training crowned by singular achievements of success.
Those who secured gold medal in any sports event of CWG, are given Rs.10 Lakhs, Silver medal winners get Rs.7 lakhs and Bronze winners earn Rs.5 lakhs each, CM announced today. The sports department has been asked to complete the formalities soon, he told.
In the political games that took place, simultaneously in the state with CWG events, curiosity was roused to a high pitch until when BJP legislators in a group secured gold, Congress the Silver, and JD-S only the Bronze medals. However, coaches of the medal winning sportsmen (women) in CWG – 2010, have not been rewarded so far, it is said.
