Mangalore : Lalrokhuma Pachau, director general of police for Karnataka, said that the police department is efficient to deal with all kind of crimes in Karnataka.
He was speaking at the press meet held at the police commissioner’s Office on June 28, Thursday. He also said that police department, which is divided into various sections like intelligence branches, special branches, law and order branches which tackles the crime and maintains law and order on time.
Eight taluks in Dakshina Kannada are identified as Naxal infested areas and the government has given required weapons and equipment to the Anti Naxal Force (ANF) to control the situation.
Prathap Reddy, IGP (western range), said that the police department reveals the Naxal surrenders information to the media after confirming it. The surrender process will continue but it will be revealed only when it get successful.
Speaking on the occasion, A. M. Prasad, additional DGP (crime), said that, After the Mumbai attacks of 26/11m, the police departments in coastal region have been tightened. The police department has seen lot of developments in past ten years.
Mangalore Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, SP Abhishek Goyal, IGP (ANF) Alok Kumar were present.
