Mangalore : Dakshina Kannada District in-charge minister who held a review meeting with senior officials on Saturday, has assured that no injustice would be done to Dakshina Kannada district as far as the Netravathi river diversion scheme was concerned.
Speaking to reporters, he said there was even a plan to ban use of plastics in the district, and added the administration presently lacked the necessary personnel required to effectively implement ban on plastics below a particular thickness.
He also informed that another progress review meeting would be held before August 15 with regard to effective implementation of various developmental projects in the district. He said the post of the Chairman of Coastal Development Authority which is presently vacant , would soon be filled.
Deputy Commissioner NS Channappa Gowda, Zilla Panchayat President KT Shailaja Bhat, Chief Executive Officer KN Vijayaprakash, Mangalore Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh and others attended the meeting.
