Mangaluru: Stipend of the states Mayor, Deputy-Mayor and members of council will be hiked, said Chief Whip of Government in Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza.

He was speaking after receiving felicitation from Mangaluru City Corporation, on Friday. “Finance ministry has already approved the proposal. The government will be announcing it soon,” he said.

“Many council members have demanded for the hike in stipend, the government has reacted to it positively. The government has planned to programme 100 days of assembly session,” he added.
