Mangalore : There has been yet another case of robbery, that too in the heart of the city on June 7, Friday. In this latest case, a man from Delhi who was in Mangalore, on some project work at NIT-K lost a cash of Rs 85000 apart from his passport, credit, debit cards and other documents.
The incident took when when Mohammad Afzal was sitting in a car near the PVS Junction, as another fellowmate had been to a nearby building on some work. A stranger who came near him told him that a currency note has fallen and as Afzal stepped out of the car to pick the note, another man opened the car door and walked away with his brief case.
If the brief case had a cash of Rs 60,000, soon Afzal received an SMS from his bank stating Rs 25000 has been debited from his account. The thieves had used his ATM card to draw the amount.
Kadri police have registered a case. This incident has shocked the city which saw two other daring theft of jewellery during broad daylight by imposters posing as policemen near Carstreet and near the Mangalore One Centre and another case in Udupi.
