Mangalore: The street vendors after holding a lot of protest in front of DC Office and MCC finally expressed their anger by gathering together to gherao the residence of Deputy Speaker N. Yogish Bhat at MG Road on June 23, Thursday. But they were stopped near SDM College by the police officials. One of the street vendors Santhosh Kumar said that the MCC hardly takes any action against the rich; do not take time to destroy the life of poor vendors who makes an honest living. President of the Street Vendors’ Union Sunil Kumar Bajal, said that the protest rally which took from State Bank of India to the residence of Yogish Bhat was decided a day before. Reportedly, the street vendors had even confiscated goods loaded in the MCC’s Civic Tiger with the support of number of union members rushed to the spot. There was also a brief argument between the Pandeswar Police and the protestors. Unfortunately, Yogish Bhat is now in Bangalore.
