Kasargod: Normal life was disrupted in Kasargod on May 24, Thursday following the strike call given by the BJP and the Left Front led by the CPM opposing the hike in petrol prices. Private buses and state transport buses were off the roads and shops and business establishments downed their shutters. Attendance was also very lean in government offices.
BJP workers also took out a procession in the town condemning the price hike and shouted slogans against the BJP government. Even the SDPI took out a protest march.
The Yuva Morcha workers stage a rail roko agitation at the Kasargod railway station for about 15 minutes.
Protest marches were also held at Perla, Badiadka, Hosangady and other places.
