Mangaluru : A student died on spot after his bike collided with a mini truck loaded with chicken at Valachil, when on the way to his reidence in Shakti nagar from near here on Tuesday, March 26, at around 8.32am approximately.
Tippanna aged 23 is the fourth year Automobile Engineering, at Srinivas Engineering College and was to have completed his course in another three month, but for his untimely death
Tippanna was believed to have been riding the bike and when it reached a curve near Valachil, he had applied breaks after seeing the truck on the wrong side, when, his two wheeler collided with the truck carrying poultry items.
According to some students, locals managed to inform a faculty of Srinivas Engineering college, and the word spread among the students who rushed to the spot. It is alleged by the students and locals, that police who were at the spot within few minutes after the accident, but did not show presence of mind, and allow injured, Tippanna to be shifted to the hospital, stating that they will wait for the ambulance to arrive. This caused delay of 30 precious minutes, which cost the life of Tippanna, because if heavy bleeding, they said.
Tipanna’s father works in CISF and is posted at Kota in Rajasthan, who has been informed. His mother and two sisters moved to Mangaluru to enable Tipanna to complete his engineering course. Out of the two sisters, one is studying in 2nd year BBA and the other in 2nd PUC at St.Aloysius college. The body was shifted to Wenlock Hospital and after Postmortem, it is being taken to Bagalkot, the native of Tipanna, and his father is expected to reach by early morning.
In the after noon a group of students from Srinivas College of Engineering, said, that they had met the Commissioner of Police and had complained to him, about the indifference of a police constable that cost the life of their class mate and collegemate Tipanna. Commissioner of Police, Sandeep Patil when contacted, had said, that he has ordered the DCP to immediately enquire into the complaint and submit a report, which when enquired with Manjunath Shetty, ACP Traffic, also confirmed and said “FIR is already registered on the Truck driver and the investigation and enquiry will follow”, he said .
