Mangalore : Scores of Canara College students took a seven kilometre march out led by Dhanraj Shetty, a PUC leader that passed through Kodialbail, Karangalpady and Lalbagh before culminating in Canara College grounds at M.G.Road. They appealed to notorious vendors who sold Tobacco products in colourful packets and drugs like Ganja and heron by injections to students.
The students visited several shops and urged the shop-keepers not to sell masala packs and such other tobacco products, even cigarettes to the youth/juvenile students. They told these shopkeepers to treat students like their own children.
It was the first phase of a public awareness Campaign and the students were expected to work out more strategies against tobacco use that kills.
