Mangalore : The 15th batch of basic B.Sc (N) and 17th batch General Nursing & Midwifery of Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing (A unit of Laxmi Memorial Education Trust) organized a Lamp lighting ceremony at the auditorium of AJ institute of Medical Science on November 25, Friday.
On the occasion the floral tribute was paid to the portrait of Florence Nightingale. The new batch students later lit the Lamps.
There are 96 students in the 15th batch of B.Sc. Nursing and 46 students in the 17th batch of General Nursing and Midwifery. Sr. Aileen Mathaias, the nursing superintendent of Fr. Muller Hospital, was the chief guest of the event.
LMET Vice President Prashanth Shetty presided over the event and said that the management will fully support these students to make them more proficient.
Dr. Amitha P. Marla, the director (administration) of AJHRC; Prashanth Shetty, the vice president of LMET; Ashritha P. Shetty, the director of LMET; Larissa Martha Sams, the principal of LMCN; Theresa Leeda Mendonca, the vice president of Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing were also present.
The students also presented a cultural show on the occasion.
