Mangalore : As a part of Onam celebrations, Students of Saanidhya residential school for special children organized a special program at school on Sep 3, Wednesday.
The students made pookalam, a traditional flower arrangement with the theme ‘Save Nethravathi’ and presented the traditional dance performances.
Most of the students created the atmosphere of Onam celebration by the girls cladding sarees and boys with traditional white lungi.
Trustee Vasanthkumar Shetty said that out of 140 students, 7 students hail from Kerala. The school has celebrated the festival today since they will leave to their home town.
Eminent doctor B.M Hedge and Mayor Mahabala Marla, accompanied the children their celebrations.
Later children were served lunch with delicacies prepared for Onam.
