Mangalore : College students under the aegis of ABVP organized a massive protest demanding the investigation into the Akshatha murder case, in front of DC Office on Friday 27, Friday.

The students took out a rally from Jyothi to DC Office.

Addressing the protestors, ABVP Joint Secretary Mahipal urged the police department to conduct thorough investigation into the mysterious death of 18-year-old student of Venkataramana Government First Grade College. The death has created fear among students and parents, he added.

Recently, Dakshina Kannada has reported many cases including Belthangady Soujanya rape and murder, Manipal gang-rape, athlete Prithvi death and now Akshatha rape and murder case, which has not been solved yet. Hence the department must investigate the case and take action against the murderer immediately.

Reportedly, decomposed body of Akshatha was found near Mulihithlu ice plant.

As per the sources, deceased Akshatha was in love with her classmate Madan hailing from Manjeshwar . Akshatha, who had left home to attend the special class and both went missing from Sep 21. Madan’s mobile phones is said to be switched off.

The students submitted the memorandum to Chief Minister through DC N Prakash.
