Mangalore: A student-scientist interaction programme as well as a nature awareness camp was conducted at Pilikula on September 7, Friday under the auspices of the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board and Department of Science and Technology. Dr Rekha PD, Deputy Director, Yenepoya Centre inaugurated the programme.
In her address, she called upon students to develop an interest in science and keep them updated on latest scientific advancements.
Dr. H.S. Debnath, Joint Director of Acharya Jagdish Chandra Bose Indian Botanical Garden, Howrah, urged students to be inquisitive. The Department of Public Instruction, Dakshina Kannada district, conducted a rural quiz competition for high school and pre-university college students at the venue. Twenty five teams were selected for the zonal level competition.
