Mangalore: Sri Rama Sene district committee has asked the Karnataka government to extend its payment of subsidy to those Hindu pilgrims going to Sabarimalai, as in the case of Haj tour for Muslims.
Speaking at the Press club today, Kumar Malemar DK unit Chief, wanted the state to sanction Rs.5,000 to each pilgrim making a trip to Sabari hills in Kerala, to worship at the Sri Ayyappa temple, after bathing in Pampa river. He asked for a Karnataka Ayyappa Bhawan to be built at the shrine region, to facilitate local pilgrims making the tedious journey every year.
The Sri Rama Sene reminded the state govt, that it had sanctioned Rs.22000 to Haj pilgrims and built a Haj Bhawan to secure Muslim votes, whereas the BJP govt, had come to power in the name of Hinduism. Sene expected that the state govt, would implement a uniform civil code to all Indian citizens
