Mangaluru : “I have faced failure in my business three times, but I never left my hometown. Instead, I chose to accept those challenges and move forward with the belief that I would overcome them in the future,” said Krishna J. Palemar, former minister and Chairman of Landlinks. “Success comes when we have the courage to face defeats and hardships head-on.”
Palemar was honored as the guest of honor at a function organized by the Mangalore Press Club at Patrika Bhavan on Wednesday, where he shared insights into his journey of triumphs and setbacks.
“Today, we hear of students taking their own lives due to poor exam results. This highlights the need for us to build the courage to confront life’s difficulties with self-confidence,” Palemar added. He emphasized that his business, which he continues to run, has always been driven by the intention to give back to society.
Reflecting on his humble beginnings, Palemar recalled working as a laborer in a cashew nut factory in Morgansgate while attending school. At the time, he never imagined that he would one day be able to purchase the very property where he had worked. Through honesty and dedication, he has made that dream a reality.
He also spoke about his ventures in real estate, where he achieved success with the guidance of his mentor, C.L. D’Souza. Palemar expressed satisfaction with his contributions as the District In-charge, Minister for the Port Department, and Environment Minister, particularly his work in establishing the Maritime Board and banning the use of plastic below 40 microns.
