Mangalore : Mangalore University Vice Chancellor TC Shivashankermurthi has urged youngsters to develop interest in mathematics.
Speaking at a Sugama Ganitha Mathematics Campaign organised by Mangalore University College here on December 22, Saturday, the Vice Chancellor said there has been a drastic reduction in people wanting to learn mathematics. He also spoke on Srinivasa Ramanjumam, the great mathematician and said his life should serve as an inspiration to youngsters.
The 125th birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujam was also observed on the occasion. A Mathematics Quiz and exhibition was also held.
Prof. Subraya Karanth, former principal, inaugurated the function. Among others present were Dr HR Lakshminarayana, Principal of University College.
