Mangalore: A group of students and teachers, besides parents gathered at ‘Inchara’ (sweet voice), a Summer Camp, organised by Shasta Bhootanatha Temple for children, along with Hindu Seva Prathisthan (Foundation), and inaugurated by Dr.S.Krishnamurthy of St. Aloysius College (former Head of Dept of Sanskrit), who told the students that learning becomes most effective with a Burning desire to Know about and not when it is treated as a burden.
He added that Knowledge was a river in full flow and one can draw as much water out of it, as one has a large or a small pot. An open mind is like a large vessel that can take home a lot of Knowledge from the present Camp, he taught.
Dr.S.Krishnamurthy urged the participants of the Camp to make full use of the opportunity before them.
Chandrashekhar Shetty of HSP welcomed the gathering .He told them that it was the fourth camp in 2 years, arranged through Vijaynath Shetty, Chief Co-ordinator.
The Camp runs from April 23 to 29 for a week to improve rural minds.110 children between 11 and 14 years of age are enrolled in the Camp. The Camp is designed to sharpen their personality and raise their wisdom levels.
6 sisters conduct the camp in arts crafts, culture and sports.
‘Satsanga’ Convenor Vasudeva Kottari spoke of soul and Indian ancient civilisation Suresh Raj of Samskara Bharati presided. Kanthappa Shetty of the temple thanked the gathering.
Free eye cheek-up and treatment camp was also held at the site for over 300 villagers.
