New Delhi: The Supreme Court has asked BJP leaders and Shiva Sena Supremo, besides some others today to spell out their stand in a criminal conspiracy to demolish Babri Mosque on Dec.6, 1992, following a CBI plea.
The Supreme Court issued notices to all of them and told them to file replies in a month. Solicitor General Gopal Subramaniam had questioned the legality of Allahabad High Court order quashing the charges of criminal conspiracy.
CBI in its petition stated that the HC order resulted in serious miscarriage of justice. The HC order of May 2010 found no merit in CBI revision petition.
There were two cases made out, one against Advani and other political leaders of instigation, and the other against misdeeds of lakhs of unknown volunteers (karsevakas) who attacked the 500 year old structure to demolish it.
