Mangalore : There was some sort of tension in the Suratkal area on January 9, Wednesday when nearly 350 auto men  led by Umesh, President of the Suratkal Autorickshaw Drivers Union paraded a fellow auto driver semi-naked for allegedly molesting a 11 year old school girl.

The accused driver Imam was caught hold of the drivers, stripped of his short and taken to the station where strict action was demanded against him. The driver also urged that the licence of Imam be cancelled.

It is alleged that Imam tried to molest an eleven year old girl while dropping her home from school in his autorickshaw. The incident came to light when the girl informed her parents about the incident. The parents passed on the information to the auto union, which decided to teach the fellow auto driver a lesson. The Union has strongly felt that the incident has  brought disrepute to the auto drivers fraternity.

Suratkal police have registered a case.
