Mangalore: The survey for the ambitious Mangala Corniche Ring Road Project will begin on Monday and the survey is expected to be completed by December this year.
Informing this to reporters, B Nagaraj Shetty, Chairman of the Coastal Development Authority, said the decision to conduct the survey was taken at a meeting of the Survey, Settlement, and Land Records Department. The survey would be done by Infotech Enterprises Limited. Alongside with the survey, the MUDA will begin work on the project implementation report, Shetty added.
On the proposal to construct hi-end fish markets, Shetty said the Authority has already designed ten markets and works on eight markets were underway. The first such market at Padubidri will be inaugurated in August, he informed.
On the historic Kotiteertha at Gokarna, Shetty said the Authority would request the Union Tourism Ministry to sanction a grant of Rs 10 crore for the renovation of the lake. He also informed that the state government has earmarked Rs 10 crore for the Coastal Development Authority during the year 2012-13.
