Udupi: A surveyor at the Udupi sub-registrar’s office was caught red handed by the Lokayukta sleuths while he was accepting bribe from a person on July 25, Wednesday.

The Lokayukta SP Jagamayyanavar and his team, trapped the surveyor named Shanmuga while he was accepting Rs 2000 from one Nagaraj Bhat of Katapady.

It is learnt, the surveyor had placed a demand  for Rs 2000 to get the sketches of the 36 cents land belonging to his mother-in-law done. Bhat had complained to the Lokayukta which was successful in arresting him.
