Mangalore  : Dakshina Kannada district administration organized a Beach Run as a part of voters awareness programme held under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) at Panampur Beach on Sunday April 13.

Superintendent of police Sharanappa SD flagged off the run in the presence of Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim and ZP CEO Tulasi Maddineni, who joined the runners for some distance.

Speaking on the occasion, DC said that District administration is making every effort to create awareness among the public of Dakshina Kannada enthusiastically participate in the electoral process. But still district may not be able to draw all the registered voters on April 17 at polling stations.

The programme also organized pamphlet distribution dropped over Panambur beach through aircraft, but unfortunately, none of the pamphlets reached the common voters, since it was swept them far inland.
