Bantwal :  A tailoring shop owned by Shashidhar of Babanakatte was destroyed in a fire mishap reported from Ananthady in  Bantwal on October 14, Sunday night. The loss has been estimated at Rs 50,000. The clothes, sewing machine  and all things in the shop were gutted in the fire.

People residing in houses behind the shop who saw smoke from the shop at 1 am in the night informed Shashidhar who arrived immediately but  of no avail as the shop was completely burnt.

The chances of an electrical short circuit  has been ruled out  as  the shop had no electricity connection. There is a doubt if someone had set the shop ablaze.

Vittal police are investigating.
