Mangaluru: The Karnataka State Tailors’ Association (KSTA) organised a massive protest demanding continuation of the Provident Fund Scheme near Dc’s office on Tuesday, March 1.
Speaking on the occassion KSTA State President B Vasanth said that, more tahan 10 lakks male and female workers need social security.The state and the central governments to form ‘Tailors’ Provident Fund’, for tailoring sector.
The association demanding the basic Social Security since 14 years. The state government has formed Unorganized Laborers Social Security Board and Enforced Provident Fund through our demand,” he said.
The present central government had however not only ended the scheme by withholding the registration of new members from April 2015, he alleged.
