Mysuru: MP Pratap Simha alleged that the Congress government has failed to take BJP MPs from the state into confidence on major issues including National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, the MP said, “Except Energy Minister D K Shivakumar, no minister has brought the issues to the notice of the BJP MPs before approaching the Union government. If the issues are brought to our (MPs) notice, it would help them to recommend it to the Centre, Simha said.
D K Shivakumar had approached the MPs in connection with the issues related to power shortage and the issues were resolved,” Pratap Simha added.
The MP said, the Centre had sought the opinion of all the states nine months ago, before the announcement of holding NEET, a single entrance test for admissions to medical colleges across the country, in regional languages. But, the state government, which did not ask for inclusion of Kannada language then, had demanded following the pressure exerted by the people through social media, he added.
The MP said, before examination in Kannada language, the state government must print Science textbooks in Kannada language and also prepare the students to take up examination in Kannada. As the Kannada version of the Science textbooks are not available, how can the students can take up the exam in Kannada, he questioned.
