Mangaluru: Talapady Residents formed a human chain near Talapady toll gate against the toll being charged to the city buses due to which the buses have stopped crossing the gate.

The protestors alleged that charging of toll fares to the buses have increased the ticket fares and have also made many buses not to ply till the Talapady bus stop.

Bus operators association leaders were also present in the protest. They said that they had requested the toll authorities to charge toll at a discounted rate for the 31 buses under them, however, the toll operator refused.

The operators added that they cannot pay the exorbitant fares charged by the toll operator.
