Mangaluru : A security guard died after he drowned in a pond in Narlapadil in Talapady under Ullal police station here Tuesday August 10.

The deceased is identified as Rajesh Shetty(55), a resident of Narlapadil.

It is said that Rajesh was working as a security guard at Talapady toll gate.

Though locals rushed to save Rajesh from drowning, they could not succeed in the task.

Rajesh used to work as a cleaner in a private bus, recently he started working as a security guard.

The deceased is survived by wife, two daughters and a son.
