Kasargod: A young and emerging female singer hailing from Uduma has reportedly ended her life by hanging herself in her house at Uduma on May 9, Thursday.

The deceased is Raima Chandran (24), daughter of Chandran, Headmaster of ALP School. Though Raima was married to a forest officer of Kozhikode two years ago, she  was staying with her parents since long following a discord with her husband. A domestic problem is suspected to be the cause of her extreme step.

The suicide came to light when her father grew suspicious when his daughter did not receive the repeated calls he made from his school office. He informed a neighbour Unnikrishnan who upon receiving no response broke open the door with the help of locals only to find Raima dead. She was found hanging from the window grill.

Raima who had won awards in several singing contests was alone at home when the incident took place.It is learnt, her mother was away at her parental home.

Bekal police are investigating the case.
