Mangalore : Two outstanding young skaters from Mangalore Seeliya Simmith and Avani S Kumar were given a rousing reception on their arrival hometown after winning medals at the international skating championship for the ‘World Development Trophy-2013.’ Seeliya won the silver and Avani bagged a bronze medal in the championship.
Both the girls are members of Mangalore Roller Skating Club and are coached by Mahesh Kumar. A total of five contestants from India had taken part in the tournament.
Seeliya is a talented skater who has also undergone ice skating training at Shimla and Ladakh, Daughter of PA Mohammad and Asma Mohammad of Pandeshwar, she is a class X student of Lourdes Central School.
Avani S Kumar, daughter of Suresh Kumar and Sundari, hails from Kadri Vyasa Nagar. Avani is a class VII student of St Theresa School and has also undergone ice skating camp at Shimla.
