Mangaluru: Mangaluru taluk level Dasara Sports 2016-17 organised by district administration, Zilla panchayat, Taluk panchayat, Mangaluru City Corporation, sports and youth welfare department was inaugurated by MLA J R Lobo, at Mangala Stadium on Sunday.

After inaugurating the sports meet Lobo said that sports should be given more priority in the schools. It is so sad that India could won only few medals in Olympics. Irrespective of age anyone one can take participation in sports events to keep themselves fit and fine.

“In sports many nations smaller than India have proved their ability. Along woth the academic activities, students should should also give importance to sports also. Students should dream big and then only the government, teachers and parents will support you to reach your goal,” he said.

MCC Mayor K Harinath, President of taluk panchayat Mohammed Monu, KSRTC Director, T K Sudhir and others were present.
