Mangalore: A team of district administration led by Tahsildar Ravichandra Naik, conducted a raid at an indoor sports club located near Hotel Nisarga for illegal betting on Aug 2, Thursday.

According to Tahsildar, when the team conducted a raid around 30 – 40 people were present inside, but none looked liked involved in illegal betting. But the team found book comprising of names, signatures and amounts been paid to people. They also witness people watching live cricket match held between England vs. South Africa.

As the information of officials entering the club spread out, many escaped through a door from corner room. Further CCTV footage will help to find the activities at the club, he said..

The raid was conducted as the per the complained filed by the general public about the club with DC Dr. Channappa Gowda.
