New Delhi: In the immediate (Tatkal) scheme of things, the Indian Railways under fresh rules, has allowed railway booking of tickets just one day prior to the actual journey.
Earlier, were issued only two days prior to such traveling, a Railway public release informed on Monday (Nov 21), under new rules brought into force.
But, no money will be refunded to the ticket-buyer if such Tatkal ticket is cancelled, to curb the tendency to cancel issued tickets, the press release added.
Under one Tatkal application (PNR) a maximum of 4 tickets only can be purchased. The ticket will be issued only tickets only can be purchased. The ticket will be issued only against an identity card.
But booking is withhold from morning 8 to 10 AM for this category of tickets, release stated.
The Immediate (Tatkal) ticket covers “emergency” travels to a destination. It is useful only for unplanned, sudden need to travel in case. But its misuse has come to the notice of Railway department, said Union Railways minister, Dinesh Trivedi, in Delhi on Monday, as a warning to misusers.
