Hyderabad: Former Andhra CM and MLA Nari Chandrababu Naidu was forcibly taken to hospital on Monday to break his indefinite fast held to seek a relief package to farmers at large. His hospitalization raised statewide protests by the Telugu Desam, calling a Bundh in AP.
Naidu’s son and followers were removed from MLA quarters at dawn amid tensions around the region. Naidu refused to undergo any treatment, on the 5th day of his relentless fast. Leftists have supported a call for shut-down given by TDP. Many cities shook up AP on the call.
Several leaders were injured in a melee with the Police in Hyderabad.
