Udupi: “Teaching has been considered as one of the noble professions. Teachers shape the students and help them to build a better carrier. They are the sculptors of future generation,” said district in-charge Minister Pramod Madhwaraj.

He was addressing the gathering after presenting best teacher award of Udupi district, at Shyamili auditorium on Monday.

“When we compare other districts with Dakshina Kannada and Udupi, we are well ahead than any other districts in terms of education and health. The prime reason behind this excellence is the teacher’s contribution,” he said.

Further he said that the progress in educational sector has impact on other fields also. Human Development Index in DK and Udupi is higher than any districts in state. “We are above average in developments in panchayat level also. Teachers’ selfless service has made us to reach this goal,” he added.

Minister felicitated 20 teachers of the district during the occasion.

MP Shobha Karandlaje, ZP President Dinakar Babu, CMC President Meenakshi Madhava and others were present.
