Mangalore : MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, said that the teachers day will be celebrated at Town Hall with the respect, But some teachers of Karnataka State Secondary Teachers Association have aimed to observe the day as the black day even after fulfilling 26 demands is regretted.
Speaking at the press meet held at District BJP office on September 3, Saturday he said that none of the state government has earlier given the benefits to the teachers like BJP government in 3-4 years time.
The state government has released the 50 percent of the grants to the teachers as per the demands. Further the government has announced to provide the grant to the primary school, high school an pre university college established between 1987 to 1995 as per the benefits given to the schools of 2007-08.
He also said that, even after 3 years, it has given the benefits to 700 schools and colleges. The government has increased the educational budget to Rs 11284 crore.
According to the demands, the government has introduced special monthly allowance of Rs 200 to solve salary discrimination.
