Mangalore : Team Mangalore’s new designed kite ‘Pushpaka Vimana’ by Dinesh Holla, bagged first place at the three day international level kite festival held at Udayapur of the state of Rajasthan from January 5 to 7.
National team and many inter- national team also participated in three day International kite festival. In the kite festival, the teams from Jodhpur and Netherlands teams have secured second and third places respectively.
The team for hobby group, Team Mangalore, aimed to uphold Indian tradition, culture and art and recently participated in the Dieppe International Kite Festival, France.
The team Mangalore comprises of Sarvesh Rao, Prashanth Upadhyaya( MRPL), Dinesh Holla and Subhash Pai( MRPL), took part in the international event with one seventy five other participants from fourty two countries like Nepal, Indonesia, Pakistan, England, Netherlands etc.
The team has also designed kites that resembling the Mythological characters including Ravana and Lord Indra and the flying machine used by Ravana Pushpaka Vimana.
