Mangalore : The team Mangalore United will celebrate its victory in recent Karnataka Premier League (KPL) match on Oct 9, Saturday, said Mr. Moideen Bawa, the owner of the team speaking at the press meet held on Oct 5, Tuesday.
He also said that a victory procession will be held as a part of celebrations. The procession would commence at NITK grounds at 2 p.m. and will proceed to Nehru Maidan via Kulai, Kottara, Lalbhag, Bunts Hostel, and Jyothi Circle. The trophy will be placed in the decorated open truck.
The victory procession will focus the culture of Tulunadu with the tableaux of Hulivesha, Yakshagana troupes, chende kombu, vaadya, kalladka gombe, Nasik band, and others. Over 5000 sports enthusiasts are expected to witness this parade. Later the trophy will be displayed at at Nehru Maidan during the stage progamme to be held at 6 p.m, he said.
Mr. Bawa also said that a felicitation programme for the team members will also be held at Dr. T. M. A. Pai International Convention Centre at 7 p.m. He said that the Mangalore United Cricket Academy will be formally launched on this occasion and all the eminent personalities of the district will be given honorary membership of this academy.
