Mangaluru: Team Mangaluru is all set to impress Dieppe people in world’s biggest kite festival, which will be held in France’s Dieppe town from September 10 to 18.
Addressing a press conference Team Mangaluru team’s Sarvesh Rao said that due to lack of sponsors only two members of the team are participating in the contest. Dinesh Holla and Satish Rao will represent Team Mangaluru.
“It is a 36th kite festival organised Dieppe Capital of Kites. It is seventh time Team Mangaluru is taking part in the fest. Promoting Indian culture and history is the theme of our team. Our 36 feet Kathakkali kite has entered the Limca record book,” he said.
He further said that this year the team has come up with 18 feet long and 12 feet width kite named ‘Dampathi’. A typical Indian dressing sense will be projected through this. Another kite also will be presented which depicts tribal culture of India.
“Moreover, organisers have chosen Dinesh Holla’s poster as a promo poster, which shows the blend of Indian and French culture and Dieppe town’s fishing port. Design and colour combination was done by Dinesh Holla and embroidery and stitching is done by me,” said sarvesh rao.
