Mangalore : A team of officials led by Assistant Commissioner Dr Ashok and Tahsildar Mohan Rao raided eight sand transportation trucks and a bull dozer at Adam Kudru on the banks of Netravathi near Ullal on August 9, Saturday.

The team also seized sand that was found stocked in the area.
Out of nine only one truck had valid license and rest is illegally transporting sand.

During the raid the sand miner opposed the seizure of the bull dozer and said that it was not used for sand mining but was used just for loading sand which is permitted as per the rule.

Rajesh Ferrao, a person with legal license for sand mining said that, he was not happy with the move of officials who also seized Bull Dozer since it was only used to load the sand from the boats to the trucks.

Ullal police tried to prevent untoward incident in the area.
