New Delhi : YSR Congress leader YS Vijayamma requested Prime Minister Manmohan Singh not to take steps to divide Andhra Pradesh till issues like water sharing, revenue sharing and funding for new capital city are taken.
“We request you not to take up the issue of division of the state until a satisfactory solution is found for all the problems and until people of both the regions are satisfied that justice has been done to them,” she said in a letter to the Prime Minister.
The YSR Congress leader said soon after Congress Working Committee (CWC) announced formation of a separate Telangana state, her party had demanded that government should place a proposal addressing important issues of water and revenue sharing and funding for new capital city and infrastructure development.
She said in protest of the government decision on Telangana, she herself and her son Jagan Mohan Reddy have resigned from their respective assembly and parliamentary seats.
Vijayamma said her son has been holding an indefinite fast from August 25 from his cell in Chanchalguda jail in Hyderabad and the “situation is slowly going out of hand.
There is no governance in the state for the last four years and people are suffering due to uncertainty prevailing there”.
