Mangalore : The Child welfare committee along with 11 other organization conducted a raid at Bunder Harbour, and found 10 child labour and handed over to Bunder police station at 6 am.
Speaking Mega Media News Venkatesh Sindhihatti, assistant labour commissioner, said that out of 10 children, 3 are proved to be above the age of 14 according to the doctor certification and among other seven one is girl child.
According to the investigation, the children have said to pick the fishes found after fishing and sell it. The children are taken to the Bala Mandir, Bondel and the Child Welfare Committee will hold the meeting and discuss on the matter, he said.
The other organizations who participated in the raid are Labour Union, Women and Child Welfare Development, Trade Union, backward class union, social welfare union, ESI hospital and Wenlock hospital and others.
