Mangaluru: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) have arrested Idinabba’s granddaughter-in-law on Monday, January 3.
Four months before the grandson of former MLA B M Idinabba arrested for suspected terror links.
A team led by NIA Investigating officer Krishna Kumar arrested Deepthi Marla alias Mariyam from her residence in Ullal. She is the wife of Idinabba’s grandson Anas Abdul Rahman.
In August 2021, NIA officials had detained Ammar Abdul Rahman, Idinabba’s other grandson for having links with the terrorist group Islamic State. Mariyam had been questioned in the case but not detained along with him at the time.
Ammar Rahman and Mariyam are suspected to have collected funds for ISIS and even shared positive messages for the group on social media. NIA, reportedly, has also found evidence against Ammar Rahman and Mariyam for recruiting young people from Karnataka, Kerala, and Kashmir for ISIS.
