Mangalore: Mohammed Ali (60) who was jailed in Bangalore Central prison for 3 years on abetting terrorism walked out of Parappana Agrahara jail a free man on July 20. His son Javed Ali (22) was dragged out of his Ullal home, along with father in a pre-dawn operation by Mumbai police, as terrorists with the help of state Anti-naxal Force (ANF) and DK Police on 3rd Oct, 2008.
Cases were filed in Mangalore against both under IPC. But Javed Ali was later released on June 16, 2009. After prolonged legal hearings, Mohammed Ali secured bail from a special court. The release came from Mangalore Sessions Court on July 18, 2011 after a security deposit was made and M Ali was asked to report his presence every month, in Mumbai and Mangalore Court on Aug.1 and Aug.11 for hearing.
