Bangalore: Now that Yeddyurappa is confirmed as CM for all five years (1000 days) of probation by BJP top leaders, when every election (ZP/TP/GP) that needs to be won is won by BJP in Karnataka, and BJP Vice president Hema Malini is beholder to all as next Rajya Sabha member from the South (India), there is nothing left to do except implementation of schemes like rural employment, and spend the unused huge balances sanctioned by Delhi to Karnataka, in its appreciation of a 20 point programme carried out by BJP.
But, wait! There are half a dozen ministry posts lying vacant after rebels (16 of them) have been ousted from the legislature, shrinking it to 206.
The national BJP leaders have asked the CM to expand the cabinet, only after the budget session, because that is a pending matter. The top leaders have agreed to appoint 6 more ministers without disturbing the existing cabinet ministers or their portfolios.
There is a single vacancy which is kept in reserve for emergency purposes. Left to CM, he quite likely to tickle the Cabinet colleagues by changing the portfolios of some of them. There are those who are burdened with additional work, out of love for the CM. They may be relieved of extra weights, to move freely CM himself holds so many portfolios.
Nitin Gadkari BJP Chairman, had had long discussions on these issues with CM Yeddyurappa in city this week on celebrating 1000 days of BJP rule in South India. Nitin has accepted all the recommendations made by the CM, to keep him happy.
CM Yeddyurappa has conducted his talks with all local (state) BJP leaders, except the isolated H.N.Ananth Kumar, with whom CM had a fight the other day. The pending cabinet expansion may happen in March, by 10th Kodagu and Chikkamagalur are the crybabies in this event. DK and coastal belt quota has been filled up, political sources said. Mysore may come in for some consideration, they added.
