Mangalore: The DK Anti Corruption Forum staged a protest in front of Pandeshwar Post office on June 8, Wednesday condemning the government’s action against the peaceful Dharna at Ramleela grounds.
Addressing the protestors, TR Bhat, convener of the Forum he said that the attack on Baba Ramdev in the Ramleela Maidan was a shameful act of the central government, since Baba Ramdev had raised his voice against corruption taking place in the country and central government.
He also said that, today all the citizen of the country must condemn this attack and must support Anna Hazare and Baba Ramdev to fight in this anti corruption act.
The Forum has organized a ‘Post Card Movement’, in which the members of the forum wrote a message to condemn the act and post it to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The members will also give the post cards to the general public and ask them to write the address and post it to the PM, he said.
Various school and college students will post around 1000 to the Prime Minister.
Nithyananda Rao, Vidya Dinkar, Anand Rao, Walter and other were present.
In another protest organized by ABVP near Bunts Hostel, B R Shah, national working member of ABVP he said that the central government takes such a long time to take any action, but in the case of Baba Ramdev, the central government did not take time to take action and conducted a shameful act.
He urged Baba Ramdev and Anna Hazare to go forward in their fight and the members of ABVP will support them, he said.
The members in the protest burnt the portrait of 10 heads bearing the photo of PM Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi, Digvijay Singh and others.
