Mangaluru : In association with private company Mangalore city corporation inaugurated first e-toilets on Tuesday July 11 at the city bus stand in Lalbagh.
Mangaluru South MLA JR Lobo inaugurated the e-toilets sponsored by HPCL. Speaking on the occasion Lobo said, these types of advanced public utility systems are much required for the city. He appreciated the MCC for the definite step towards making Mangaluru a more hygienic city.
Mayor Kavitha Sanil said this facility is very useful to the public, operation is also very simple and moreover, it is hygienic and eco-friendly. The toilet automatically gets cleaned. The toilet uses 1.5 litres of water if people use it for up to three minutes, and 4.5 litres if the time taken is over three minutes, she said.
We will plans to install more such e-toilets near PVS Circle, Pumpwell, university college, Nanthur, Kadri Market, fish market near State Bank, and Forum Mall.with the help of corporate firms.
HPCL donated funds under its Corporate Social Responsibility scheme at 6.5 lakh Rupees for each toilets.
These e-toilets operate with digital technology, people can be use Rs 1, Rs 2, Rs 5 coins to operate this Toilet.
Deputy mayor Rajaneesh Kapikad, former mayor Shashidhar Hegde, corporators Asha D’Silva, Sabitha Misquith, Appi, Nagaveni, MCC Commissioner Mohammed Nazeer and many others were present.
